Australia ready to welcome the world in 2020 – Official travel packages on sale now
Australia is ready to welcome the world, with ticket-inclusive travel and tours packages available now for the tens of thousands of fans expected to travel down under for two ICC T20 World Cups in 2020.
Following the conclusion of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019 in England and Wales, Australia is next to host a major global ICC event. The ICC T20 World Cup 2020 will be held as two standalone events across eight Host Cities, with the women’s tournament to take place from 21 February – 8 March, followed by the men’s later in the year, from 18 October – 15 November.
An extensive Official Travel and Tours programme has been established for fans planning to travel from around Australia and the world to see their team in action. Fans can secure their places immediately with packages on sale now at www.icctravelandtours.com.
The influx of fans for next year’s T20 World Cups is expected to build on the positive local legacy of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand, and which attracted more than 200,000 international and interstate visitors in Australia alone.
ICC Travel & Tours has appointed 19 Official Travel Agents to cater for fans from all over the world, who are now able to book their experience. Travel packages available through ICC Travel & Tours offer a wide range of ticket-inclusive packages. In addition, fans will be able to purchase exclusive supporter tour experiences, taking them closer to the action.
ICC T20 World Cup 2020 Local Organising Committee CEO, Nick Hockley, said: “Passionate fans from around the world were a highlight of the recently concluded ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 and it is such an exciting prospect that both the women’s and men’s T20 World Cups are coming to Australia next year.
“2020 is a year when fans across Australia and around the world can be part of not just one, but two World Cups, and now fans have the opportunity to plan their full year. We encourage everyone to get in early.
“With its world-class venues, wonderful host cities, its passionate, knowledgeable and diverse fans, having two T20 World Cups in 2020 is an opportunity for Australia to give the warmest of welcomes to fans from around the world and inspire the next generation.”
